Italian hand-crafted strings made from Nylgut®, a synthetic gut material that combines the sound and feel of natural gut with the durability of nylon. The plain strings have a milky-white appearance and a very warm sound. They are also thinner than comprable nylon strings. Excellent strings for classical oud.

Note: Aquila introduced a standard set for oud gauged for 4.2kg tension (not available from Khalaf Oud Luthiery). Most classical repertoire oudists found this too tight for their instruments and tastes. Shortly thereafter Aquila introduced a so-called "light tension" set at 3.7 kg. Although this is widely considered medium to high tension by most players, these strings will be referred to as "light tension" based on Aquila's terminology.

This set is made up of Aquila's copper-wound nylgut multifilament and plain nylgut. Lower courses D and GG.
